Wife finds long-lost husband 9 years after he disappeared, but it's not a happy ending
When Karen Marx's husband vanished nine years ago, she was sure she'd seen the last of him. After all, he'd left without leaving so much as a note explaining where or why he'd gone. Karen spent years searching for her disappeared husband, hoping that if she tracked him down she could finally ask for a divorce from Adam and move on with her life. So imagine her surprise when, almost ten years later, Adam's own mother broke the news to Karen via Facebook that the sinvergüenza was living in a neighboring town… and was happily married to someone else. What the heck?

Karen should have known Adam would do such a thing. After all, the guy left his first wife to be with Karen. Then, Adam pulled the same stunt on Karen less than a year into their own marriage. But at least that time, he left a note. "The first time he left me, it was like somebody reached into my chest and ripped my heart out of me," Karen said. "He basically told me it was all my fault and he couldn't handle my kids."
Incredibly, Karen took Adam back when he reappeared a few months later, but under one condition: if he pulled such a stunt again, that would be the end of their marriage. He agreed. And so the newly reunited couple moved from Wisconsin to Montana for a fresh start. Everything seemed to be going well until… Adam up and left again, and this time he'd left her in a ton of debt. That (insert expletive here)!
Karen went almost a decade without hearing from her husband, save for a random run-in in a Kmart parking lot where she asked him for a divorce. He said he'd called her. He never did. It wasn't until Karen reached out to his mother via Facebook in 2012 that she learned of Adam's new life…and wife! Ugh. Then as if things couldn't get worse, Karen found out Adam had been going around telling everyone his current marriage was his first. Uh-oh!
Well, Karen did what so many women I know would have done: she got revenge. Livid, she contacted the police and pressed charges. Adam now faces charges of bigamy, fraud and making a false statement on a marriage license. Ha! Good for both of them. Karen finally gets closure and Adam will finally be forced to commit to something, ie: jail time! For her part, Karen's just glad Adam is getting his comeuppance. I, on the other hand would need to get in one last dig. If I were sending my commitmentphobe ex up the creek, I'd probably send him off to jail with a new pair of sneakers and a note that reads, "Try running now, sucka!"
