Asexual woman says she's never had sex & never will
Imagine a life without absolutely NO sex ... sounds horrifying, no? But for 35-year-old Julie Sondra Decker from Tampa, Florida, that's pretty normal. In fact, she claims she's never felt sexual attraction for men or women. And unfortunately for her, that's just led to countless sexual offers over the years. But she claims that "without the feelings that usually go with that sort of thing, it's kind of gross."

As odd as Julie's condition may seem, it's still doesn't excuse some of the sick comments people made. The 35-year-old claims she's had several commentators tell her she just needs a "good raping." Others have even threatened to kill her. How insane is that?
"When people hear that you're asexual, some take that as a challenge," she told Huffington Post. "We are perceived as not being fully human because sexual attraction and sexual relationships are seen as something alive, healthy people do." This poor woman is so misunderstood that her own parents were convinced for years that she was a closeted lesbian. Her mother took her to see a doctor because she was worried that her daughter wasn't expressing any "normal" interest in men. One of her guy friends even tried kissing her against her will hoping it would "fix" her.
"They think that you really want sex but just don't know it yet. For people who perform corrective rape, they believe that they're just waking us up and that we'll thank them for it later," she said.
The fact that anyone would believe that raping this woman would instantly snap her into "normality" is just disturbing. What people don't get is that being asexual is a real condition, it's not a joke, and it's not a choice. This woman didn't just decide to never have sex for the rest of her life, it's part of who she is, whether we understand it or not. Someone who was born asexual doesn't experience any kind of sexual attraction towards any gender. There's no "fixing" it, it just is what it is.
I honestly can't picture myself living a life without sex. But that's because I experience the urges and cravings that Julie clearly doesn't. So at the end of the day everyone needs to stop hating and just let this girl be. At least she doesn't have to live with all the drama and issues that come with a sex life!
