Sexting might be risky, but we all do it anyway!

Maybe one of the reasons America is so addicted to their cell phones is because the whole country can't stop sexting! Though plenty of people (aka celebs and politicians) have been scandalized after sending a sexy picture or text message, the risk of being caught isn't enough to make anyone quit the habit…at least according to new research. A recent survey found that nearly 1 in 5 smartphone owners use their phone for sexting. And young teens weren't the only culprits!

The analysis found that the biggest sexting age groups are 18- to 34-year-old men (32 percent, not surprising) and 35- to 44-year-old women (25 percent, very surprising!). But those aren't even the most unexpected participators—1 in 10 people age 55 and older admitted to sending a sext while 30 percent of parents with kids under 18 also said they're sexting enthusiasts. Note to self: never, ever touch my parent's phones again.

At least some sexters aren't totally careless with their dirty messages and nudie pics (teehee!). About 1 in 10 men and women said they save the contact information of potential love interests "under a code name"…which is quite a convenient way of explaining those "Hot Girl from Bar" and "Dude with Abs" everyone has had in their phones at some point or another.

In any case, I'm not really all that surprised that no one has stopped sexting—after all, it's not like our nation is known for shying away from scandal. Still, while it's good that everyone is so comfortable with their sensuality, I strongly encourage all sexters to start being more cautious with their phones! Blackberries and iPhones lock for a reason people!
