Mario Lopez traumatized Ali Landry into abstinence!
Finally! Years after her short-lived marriage to Mario Lopez ended amongst rumors of his infidelities, Ali Landry decided to open up about the former couple's tumultuous relationship and confront all the gossip during her appearance on yesterday's Wendy Williams Show.
"I had heard something right before the wedding. He swore that it was not true, but I had that feeling in my gut," the 34-year-old Hollywood Girls Night star told the talk show host. "All of my family was flying in--it was a destination wedding--and I really should have put the brakes on it at that point, but I was afraid."
After Landry's friend offered to help her tap Lopez's phone, she began receiving phone calls from other women. Two weeks later, Landry filed for an annulment.
The break-up left Landry feeling cautious about relationships so when she first got involved with now-husband Alejandro Monteverde, she decided to abstain from having sex until after they got married. "Because of the situation I was in before, I was just treading lightly, and did not want to make any mistakes in this relationship," Landry said.

Well I guess her strategy worked because the two have been married since 2006 and have two kids, daughter Estela, 4, and son Marcelo, 5 months.
OK, I'm a fan of Mario Lopez but I have to admit that his behavior throughout this relationship was totally jerky and unacceptable. According to Landry, not only has he never apologized, but he still denies the fact that he ever cheated even after she confronted him with the phone evidence. Sigh. Why do men think they can hide something that huge?

And though Landry's decision to abstain until marriage during her next relationship seems a little extreme to me (I mean does that really help anyone?), I can understand her need to be careful with her feelings after getting burned. Plus, I am super impressed that Montverde was so accommodating with her wishes. A lot of guys would have gone running for the hills after hearing that. Guess that means he really is a keeper!
I wonder what Mario's gonna have to say about all this?
