SEE: The armed man hunting cops & still on the run

Canadian police have launched a massive manhunt for a 24-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed three officers in a gun battle on Wednesday night.

The deadly exchange took place after police received a call about an armed man dressed in camouflage, walking around the north end of the city in Moncton, New Brunswick. Authorities confronted the suspect, later identified as Justin Borque (seen above), eventually exchanging gunfire that killed three officers and left another two injured. Now, authorities, who released an image of Borque on Twitter, are urging people in the area to stay inside their homes for safety purposes.

As police look for the suspect at large, local schools have been shut down and buses cancelled. Authorities have also warned residents in the area that Borque is heavily armed and carrying two military-style assault rifles with high capacity magazines, a bow, and a knife. Officers have sectioned off a number of roads in an area where they believe the suspect may be and drivers have been asked to stay away.

Moncton Mayor George LeBlanc also released a statement, saying, "The police and other emergency personnel are working under extremely difficult conditions and need our complete cooperation. Stay home, stay safe. If you cannot get home, seek out a friend or family and remain there until you are advised otherwise."

This is so terrifying. Obviously, we don't know Borque's motives yet, but given how heavily armed he is, it's clear all residents of the area are in danger. Hopefully, the police will be able to locate and detain Borque before he hurts anyone else. In the meantime, I only hope that everyone in the area takes the advisories seriously and stays indoors to be safe.
