'The Shield' actor Michael Jace killed his wife in front their kids & the details are chilling

michael jaceAn actor on the popular show The Shield turned himself in to police last night after admitting to shooting his wife of over a decade in their Los Angeles home. Michael Jace, who played a detective on the cop drama, reportedly shot and killed his 40-year-old wife, April.

Police say the 51-year-old actor reported the crime around 8:30 p.m. Monday night. What makes this more shocking is that their small children witnessed the whole thing!

Jace was booked with a homicide charge as his children were taken in to the police station and appeared to be distraught after the whole ordeal. April was found with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead by the time police arrived. Two of the children who witnessed the shooting are said to belong to Jace and his wife, while the other child is from her previous relationship.

Besides the horrible tragedy that occurred in the Jace household, police are angry that Children's Services did not arrive promptly to handle the children who were traumatized. It reportedly took them four hours to arrive at the police station to retrieve the kids and to take them to the home of a reliable relative.

It is unclear why Jace committed such a horrible act but police think it may have been over a domestic dispute. He has been placed on a bail set at a million dollars as police continue to investigate.

This story is so heartbreaking! No child should ever have to witness domestic fights between their parents, let alone seeing one of them get killed because of it. I can't imagine the terrible memory these children are going to have to live with after their father shot their mom in cold blood. No matter what their argument was about, I'm sure it didn't call for a weapon to be drawn the way Jace did. I hope the kids are in safe hands now and receiving the therapy they need after their father committed such a heinous crime.
