California mom arrested for stabbing baby & maybe we should feel sorry for her
On Saturday, a California mother in her early 20s was arrested and now faces murder charges for allegedly stabbign her 7-month-old baby. Oh, this makes my heart hurt. Officers were responding to reports of a woman ramming her car into a rock wall at Camp Arroyo inside Del Valle Regional Park about 45 miles east of San Francisco. When police arrived on the scene they found the damaged car with a baby seat in the back, but the vehicle was empty. At around 12:30 p.m. officers spotted a woman carrying a lifeless baby who had been stabbed multiple times. Officers attempted to revive the baby, but they were unsuccessful. Why would she do something so awful to her child?

The case is still under investigation, but it is believed the woman, whose name has not been released, may be suffering from depression and was also trying to commit suicide. She had cuts on the lower part of her body.
I know that I should feel no sympathy for this woman because of what she allegedly did to her baby and believe me I am so sorry that child was murdered. Nothing can fix that and it is a tragedy, but I feel something other than rage for the mother. If this really was brought on by a severe case of depression, I feel horrible that she wasn't able to find help before she killed her child and hurt herself.
Depression in new moms is not something to be taken lightly. It's dangerous and something we should all be on the lookout for. Moms if you need help, please talk to your doctors. Do not suffer in silence.
