Little boy found locked & starved in parents' stairway closet

A 5-year-old Texas boy was recently found locked inside the stairway closet of his family's home, starved and beaten. His father and stepmother were arrested after authorities found the poor young child covered in bruises, with his bones sticking out from malnourishment.

Ugh ... this is one of those heartbreaking stories that just turns your stomach and makes you wonder what in the world is wrong with some people.

According to investigators, the child was found in a diaper in the small closet by his 16-year-old stepbrother on Thursday night. When the teen confronted his stepfather, Bradley Bleimeyer, the two ended up getting into a fist fight. By the time police arrived, both Bleimeyer and the victim's stepmother, Tammi, had fled the scene with the little boy.

Thankfully, cops were able to trace the couple's cellphone to a motel about 13 miles away from their house. Officers were shocked by the horrifyingly frail condition of the young boy, which they called one of the worst child abuse cases they'd ever seen. The boy has since been sent to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. Though he is in stable condition, it will take him several weeks to fully recover ... at least physically. There's no accounting for how long it could take him to get past this emotionally and mentally, if he ever does.

Meanwhile, both the dad and stepmom have been charged with felony child endangerment. Bleimeyer is in jail with no bond and Tammi has since been let go on $2,000 bond.

This honestly just breaks my heart. I don't understand how anyone is capable of treating their own innocent kids like this. Who knows how much longer this torture would've gone on if it hadn't been for that 16-year-old teen?

And that's, unfortunately, not all there is to the story. Tammi is reportedly pregnant and has five other children of her own. Police are searching for them to make sure they're all okay. My god! Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse ...

I really hope that all of the kids safe and sound and that they, including the 5-year-old boy who was just rescued, find homes where they're given the love they truly deserve.
