WATCH 3 kids' shocking rescue after mom purposely drives them into ocean

A pregnant Florida woman is under investigation after she allegedly intentionally drove her minivan into the ocean, with her children inside.

According to witnesses, the unidentified mom made a hard turn directly into the ocean, causing the kids inside the car to cry for help and scream that their mother was trying to kill them. Thankfully, some nearby standers jumped into the water to help. The entire terrifying ordeal was caught in some shocking footage, seen below.

As can be seen in the clip taken by an onlooker, rescuers carried two children, ages 9 and 10, away from the sinking van before realizing they were frantically trying to tell them there was also a 3-year-old toddler in the car. All the meanwhile, the mother seemed extremely disoriented and didn't say a word before walking away, leaving the baby still inside the vehicle.

"She had this look on her face," one of the rescuers told"I can't describe it. It was just an awful blank look, like spaced out look."

Thankfully, the small child was eventually pulled to safety and taken to the hospital for examination. The mother has not spoken to police about the incident, but was also admitted to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.  According to authorities, the children could be turned over to a relative in Orlando, pending the investigation.

This is just awful. While there's obviously more to the story than what we know, it seems as if this woman wasn't trying to hurt her kids out of maliciousness and that there's something going on with this woman healthwise that has yet to be determined. Hopefully, doctors will be able to pinpoint what's wrong and get her the help she needs.

In the meantime though, her kids would clearly be in jeopardy staying in her care. It sends chills down my spine, thinking of what could've happened had those good Samaritans not jumped into the water to help. I only hope that they'll be placed with someone who can properly care for them and keep them safe.
