Ian Watkins: Lostprophets singer pleads guilty to trying to rape a baby
Ian Watkins, the lead singer of rock band Lostprophets, has plead guilty to multiple child sex charges, including the attempted rape of a baby.
Yesterday, Watkins and two female defendants appeared in court, where the musician admitted to attempting to rape an 11-month-old boy of one of the co-defendants and conspiring to rape the baby girl of another. According to the police, he also recorded and kept episodes of this abuse, which were later recovered by authorities. Ugh, this is the kind of story that makes my stomach turn. I'll never understand how anyone can do such a thing to innocent kids!

In addition to the charges of attempted rape, Watkins is also facing three counts of sexual assault involving children, six involving making pornographic images of children, and one of "possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal." How sick can one person be?!
The prosecutor revealed that drugs played a "significant part" in his offenses against children, which legal officials have called some the "most shocking and harrowing child abuse" they'd ever seen.
Watkins was first charged with the child sex offenses almost a year ago and initially denied the charges. In October, the band Lostprophers disbanded.
Watkins might have been under the influence while committing some of his heinous crimes, but that doesn't excuse his despicable actions and neither does his celebrity status. No child deserves to be taken advantage of and put through such abuse and Watkins, as well as the other parties involved, need o pay for what they did. I only hope he gets the punishment he deserves.
