SEE: Flesh-eating drug makes its way to the U.S. & it's terrifying! (GRAPHIC VIDEO)
A homemade flesh-eating drug has made its way into the US. Krokodil, a disfiguring and potentially fatal mixture of codeine and hydrocarbons like oil, gas, or alcohol, has shown up in two cases in Arizona, according to the state's Banner Poison Control Center.
Though the drug has previously been reported in Russia, this is believed to be the first time its appeared in the U.S.--in Arizone--and its effects are grosser and more terrifying than you can imagine.

Users filter and boil the drug before injecting it into their veins, mistakenly believing that will remove the impurities. But that couldn't be further from the truth.
Krokodil actually got its name because upon entering your system, it literally rots your skin from the inside out and causes a crocodile-like appearance. Graphic images of these side-effects have appeared before ... and trust me, to call them disturbing would be putting it mildly. Very mildly.
Even doctors have been left horrified by the drug's aftermath. "We're extremely frightened," Dr. Frank LoVecchio, the co-medical director at the center, told KLTV.
So what exactly is the appeal? Dr. LoVecchio says krokodil is 20 times cheaper than heroin, but produces a similar high. However, the average life expectancy of a krokodil user is reportedly only about three years. That's an incredibly dangerous drug.
It's beyond scary to think that something this lethal is now in the States and that there are people out there that are actually willing to take it. I mean, this drug essentially turns humans into zombies--it's like something straight out of a horror movie! I just really hope that this can be stopped from spiraling out of control before it starts claiming lives left and right.
