Navy Yard shooting: "Several" killed, at least 10 injured by possibly various gunmen
Washington D.C. Metropolitan police sealed off the Navy Yard building in the southeast part of the capital city after a horrific shooting that occurred this morning at around 8:20 a.m. There are apparently "several dead," according to initial reports, among them a police officer, and at least 10 injuries. Reports are now surfacing that there could be as many as THREE shooters in this morning's horrific shooting rampage. More than 3,000 people work in the Navy Yard, and I can't even imagine the terror that all these people must be feeling arriving to work and not knowing what in the world is going on.

A spokesperson for the police department in Washington D.C. confirmed that the shooting occurred at about 8:25 a.m. and that there are still several officers at the scene of the crime. What worse: There have been several reports that there were TWO gunmen in this whole ordeal, after panic earlier today when the gunman still had not been caught.
A public affairs chief for the Navy, Ed Buclatin, tweeted "four killed and eight injured." However, he also said that reports of more than one shooter had not been confirmed yet.
All streets leading to the Navy Yard are closed off, although the train station remains open. Capitol police said that there wasn't any immediate threat to that building, but security measures were nevertheless tightened. At least eight elementary schools in the area are on lockdown as authorities take precautions.
What an incredible tragedy! And the worst part is that we still don't know so much about what is actually going on, how many dead, how many gunmen! We'll keep you updated as more details are released and this tragedy evolved. Our prayers are with all the victims at this point.
