Little boy lights himself on fire while trying to follow mom's crazy demands

A Nevada mom is facing child abuse charges after her 11-year-old lit himself on fire while trying to follow her orders. Juanita Carr allegedly drove her son and an unidentified 18-year-old male to a gas station early Tuesday and bought a gas can and gasoline. Later, she asked her young son to do the unthinkable ... and it would up almost killing the little boy!

Carr made her little son try to set her minivan ablaze because she was reportedly on back payments for the vehicle. Can you believe that? What kind of mother gets her 11-year-old involved in that kind of thing, especially when it's so dangerous?!

During the attempted arson, the boy's clothes caught on fire. Carr managed to put the flames out and drive him to a local gas station, where they called an ambulance. Though thankfully the injuries weren't life-threaning, police say the child ended up sustaining burns on over 40 percent of his body. That poor kid! Sustaining those kinds of injuries in undoubtedly incredibly painful and terrifying ... and to have it all happen at the hands of your own mother?! That just makes it that much worse.

Carr was arrested and now faces charges of arson, conspiracy to commit arson, and child abuse with substantial bodily harm. Police are still looking for the 18-year-old male who allegedly helped light the fire.

Though I'm relieved to hear that the child will be able to recover, I can only imagine what a long and agonizing healing process it will be. It's definitely not anything an 11-year-old should ever have to go through, particularly at the request of his parent. I just hope he makes a speedy recovery--and that he is placed with someone who will take better care of him.
