NFL tragedy: 49ers fan falls to his death as crowd watches! (VIDEO)

A football fan died during the 49ers and Packers game on Sunday after falling from an elevated pedestrian walkway at Candlestick Park at the San Francisco stadium.

Witnesses told police that the man appeared to be intoxicated before falling off to a sidewalk. A team of off-duty medics even raced to the scene and tried to revive him, but were unsuccessful. How sad is this? This poor man was just trying to enjoy a football game with a few drinks, little did he know it was going to end in his death!

The tragic incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. ET, just after the kickoff in the 49ers' 34-28 win over Green Bay. Apparently, the man was so drunk he wound up falling from one of the elevated pedestrian walkways. No one knows for sure what caused him to fall. Off-duty medics along with police officers tried immediately giving the man first aid, but it was too late. The man who appeared to be somewhere in his 30s, was already dead.

We still don't know who was with the man at the game and his identity has yet to be released until his family is notified. "We would like to express our deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time," 49ers spokesman Bob Lange said in an email after learning about the accident.

This man was probably just trying to have a good time out at the football game and it ended up costing him his life. Honestly, who doesn't drink at a sports game? He most likely lost his balance on the walkway and then fell down. My thing is, if this is something that occurs so often (as so many of these accidents have happened lately it seems like right?), maybe these sports fields should consider having more security near the walkways. It's very unfortunate that someone had to lose their life in this kind of way. My heart really goes out to this man's family!
