Woman puts her 3-year-old son up for adoption on CraigsList because she's out of her mind

A Texas mother was recently arrested for placing an ad on Craigslist offering to put her 3-year-old son up for adoption. Stephanie Redus claims that even though she posted up the ad, she was never going to actually give up her child. Who in their right mind would think it's okay to try to put up their kid for adoption through Craigslist? Well apparently the 29-year-old mom is not in her right mind because she claims she did it because she struggles with depression and anxiety.

Redus claims she takes prescriptions medications to help her cope with her depression and anxiety, but she's been off them because she's currently pregnant with her second child. According to NBC News, she posted the eerie ad on May 1 which was later removed by Craigslist administrators. It read:

Hi, I'm trying to adopt out my three-year-old son. I'm not in a good place in my life and don't feel like I can care for him properly, but I don't know where to start. If you or know anyone who is interested in caring for him please let me know. I'm a single mom and can't do this.

Thanks, Desperate.

The woman had at least one person respond to her ad, one being Houston police officer Deon Thomas who eventually arrested her. Apparently she even asked one of the prospective parents for a picture along with information about his other children. Okay, at this point I'm too sure I believe she wasn't going to actually go through with the adoption.

There's been no mention of the boy's father or even the father of this woman's unborn child which I found kind of odd. The 3-year-old is now with Child Protective Services and Redus has been charged with a misdemeanor, on a state charge of advertising the placement of a child. She's scheduled to appear in court on May 21.

Talk about bad parenting! The worst part about it is you don't know whether you should feel rage towards this mother or sorry for her because she clearly struggles with psychological issues. I'm well aware of some of the nonsense that goes on Craigslist, but this is by far the most outrageous thing I've ever heard. I really feel bad for that little boy and I'm REALLY worried for her unborn baby!
