Teen Penelope Soto gets well-deserved jail time for flipping off judge, being a total jerk

If there is one thing that gets me super pissed, it's spoiled brats who think they can get away with anything. And there are many who don't understand the meaning of respect as proven in this video taken in Florida's Miami-Dade criminal justice courtroom.

The footage shows An 18-year-old girl named Penelope Soto who was charged with carrying a controlled substance and awaiting her bond hearing. She had been caught riding her bike while high on "Xanax Bars" and carrying 26 more in her purse. Then she had to go and be TOTALLY disrespectful to Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat, also known as the man who held her fate in his hands. Let's just put it this way, he deserves a standing ovation for what he did when Ms. Soto started acting all out of line….

The silly teenager decided to act like wise ass and managed to get in EVEN more trouble. I don't support violence, but some brats--like Soto-- definitely deserve the Chancleta.  In the video, the teen disrespectfully walks into the courtroom giggling and flipping her long red dyed hair as if her crime were some joke.  When the judge asks her about her financial status to set her bond, Penelope jokes that she has jewelry that's worth a lot of money. The judge looks just about fed up with her as she continues to laugh and giggle when he asks her how much the jewelry is worth and responds, "It's like Rick Ross. It's worth a lot of money."

Considering how jittery and the amount of giggling she was doing prompted Rodriguez-Chomat to ask her if she had taken drugs in the past 24 hours which she denied. He then sets a $5,000 bail, which was generous enough, but Ms.Cocky decided to mock the judge's accent into the microphone and said, "Adios!"

That move pissed off his justice enough to up the bond to $10,000. Well, this seemed to wake Soto up so after asking incredulously, "Are you serious" the disrespectful teen began flipping him off and cursing. So, Judge Rodriguez-Chomat charged her with criminal contempt and sentenced her to 30-days-in jail.  Who's laughing now Penelope?

I'm glad he put this brat in her place, because there are SO many rude teens like her who think they can get away with ANYTHING. Hopefully, this wake-up call will teach her a lesson to respect her elders and to get her act together. She's lucky this happened before a judge, because if it had been another less tolerant person, she could've gotten her butt whooped or worse!

yes way too harsh. She is very young and naive. He should have just warned her that she is on the verge of going to jail for contempt of court.

20 yrs ago that might have worked, nowadays they are so fresh that I think what he did was exactly what she deserved.  Maybe next time she will think twice and remember there are consequences to our actions and she will be alittle more respectful.... I am a grown woman and I would never be disrespectful to an elder, my aunts can call me a "perra muerta" and I would lower my head outta respect. FRESCA!!!

No I don't think it was harsh every person knows that when you are standing in front of a judge you don't play with your hair or giggle and she wants to mock the judge then to walk off n flip him off she deserves the punishment.
