Miami cannibal was NOT high on bath salts! (VIDEO)

After a month of thinking that the Miami man who cannibalized a homeless man was high on a new synthetic street drug called "bath salts," the toxicologist is saying that is just not the case.

The story that launched all the jokes about the "zombie apocalypse" and totally freaked me out turns out to have a very different ending: a report from the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's office has revealed that there were no drugs in Rudy Eugene's system except for marijuana

I'm honestly pretty shocked if the bizarre incident was cause solely due to pot. Since then, there have been numerous reports of more cannibal-like attacks and it all frankly scares the living daylights out of me. I don't really appreciate zombie apocalypse jokes as it is and the increase of these types of attacks lately just strikes me as bizarre.

It's one thing if the man was high on the synthetic hard drugs known as "bath salts" when he chewed off a large portion of Ronald Poppo's face and eventually had to be shot dead by police so that he would stop--it's an entirely different matter if he was just a normal guy who decided to eat someone's face!

The apparently growing trend of cannibalism is only scarier to me when considering that it may be about more than just the supposed use of bath salts. I've never heard of anyone getting so crazy violent just from marijuana, so I'm concerned about what else is going on here. I guess, though, in the end there are just more questions to be answered.
